Indirect Anyone? July 30, 2010 GoldenGoofball Friends, if you use a "Weber Smokey Joe", this product greatly simplifies and enhances indirect cooking. Takes s lot of the mess out of slow cooking turkeys, roasts and whatnot. Might want to take pretty good care of em because they quickly rust. Seems like Weber quit making them for a year or two.
Small Things Do Matter May 15, 2010 Mike Smith (Baytown, TX) These work great on our 22.5 inch Weber kettle. You can use them for indirect heat or put them together for high direct heat in the middle. What can I say, another good product from Weber.
Essentila part April 7, 2010 BeachBabe35 (Daytona Beach) What's to say, no moving parts and keeps the charcoal from falling in the drip pan. Received this part very fast.
A must have! November 29, 2009 Jon R. Gilmore (Westminster,Ca) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been using these rails for years on various Webers that I've owned and it wouldn't be the same without them.
With these rails, combined with the hinged cooking grate, I've been able to cook a large turkey to perfection. The rails hold the charcoals back from the drip pan so you can recover drippings for gravy without charcoal and woodchips in it.
For any application where you need to cook indirectly you need these charcoal rails.

These are so simple, but work so well. Not much else to say. They're supposed to hold the coals to the sides of the grill for indirect grilling, and they do. I feel like I should write more, but...just get a set if you like roasting on your Weber kettle.
