Amazon.com Review There's nothing better than slow-cooked barbecue. And, there's no better way to get authentic smokehouse flavor at home than with the Smokey Mountain Cooker/Smoker. Perfect for large gatherings, it's easy to cook a whole turkey and an entire ham at the same time in this roomy charcoal smoker. So there's no need to plunge straight into ham prep when you still haven't recovered from baking the turkey. Made of premium-grade steel, the smoker has two, triple-nickel-plated cooking grates measuring 18-1/2 inches in diameter-plenty of room for larger birds. Individual vents on the bowl and lid offer optimal air-flow control for tender meats and longer-burning charcoal. Rust-resistant aluminum vents and an aluminum fuel door ensure years of clean use. The bowl and lid are coated with porcelain enamel for optimal corrosion resistance. And, a porcelain-enameled water pan adds steam to the cooking process, so meats stay moist and juicy. Maintenance-free, glass-reinforced, nylon handles withstand the elements for the life of this innovative charcoal grill. The Smoky Mountain measures 41 by 19 by 19 inches, and rests easily on a park bench or patio. The purchase includes a Weber cookbook, a heavy-duty vinyl cover, and is covered by a 10-year limited warranty. --Brian Olson

Great smoker with few complaints June 12, 2010 B. Smetzer (Smithsburg, Maryland United States) The Weber is a great little smoker. I have been smoking for 2 years now, year round, with is smoker and feel I am qualified to share my opinions and thoughts on this smoker.
Pros - It is inexpensive, not to hard to use and turns out some very good BBQ. If you don't want to spend a ton of cash and are just cooking for friends and family the Weber is hard to beat.
Cons - No Thermometer. Now I know they have finally put them on the other models but this one does not have one and that is ridiculous! Temp is the most important thing in smoking. Next is the fact that it does not have handles on the side for when you have to put more coals in. This would have been very helpful. Lastly is the legs. They suck! Mine folded in about 1 1/2 years. So I rigged my own. No problems since.
So over a great little vertical smoker that puts out some great tasting, moist BBQ.
P.S. - If you pack that sucker full you can get 40 pounds of Pork Butt in it.
Nice Smoker, good control January 25, 2010 M. Stone I would have given it 5 stars if there was a temp gauge and the grates for the charcoal were a little closer together. I use lump charcoal and sometimes there are a lot of small pieces, so they will fall through the grates a little. It has great temp control and lots of room. You can add the charcoal without taking any of the racks out end check the temp of the meat on the lower rack through the door. Could also use a little bigger water bowl.
Wonderful Smoker July 6, 2009 E. Watt (Vail, CO) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did a lot of research on the different types of smokers that are available and am so glad I bought the Smokey Mountain Cooker. The first time I had ever smoked was a couple weeks ago with this unit and it turned out perfectly! I've been smoking every weekend since and whatever I put in it comes out tender and perfectly smoked.
I would highly recommend this smoker to anyone.

I was expecting the current model with the temp guage and larger water pan not old inventory.
Pretty decent smoker! June 13, 2009 L. Konecsny (South Jersey) I had a horizontal smoker with the fire box on the side previously. It was OK but it took alot attention to keep the temp constant. My neighbor and his brother both have the Weber and highly recommended it. The are both avid smokers. This smoker is easy to use and works well. The only thing I would change is to make the opening for the door larger so that a Weber coal chimney can fit in to add charcoal. I had to fabricate a sheet netal adapter for the chimney so that I can add charcol. I would also add a visual indication to show locked position on the door. These are minor issues. I would definitely recommend this smoker.
